District Attorney Farley Ward

When Governor Brad Henry in December, 2004 appointed Farley Ward to replace Rob Wallace as District Attorney for Latimer and LeFlore Counties, we at Bubbaworld hoped that Ward would make a difference. That he would replace the 'Good Ol Boy System' of LeFlore County 'justice' with real justice. Unfortunately this has not been the case.
Prior to being appointed District Attorney, Farley Ward spent 19 years as an assistant DA, was then appointed as a special judge in LeFlore, Latimer and Haskell Counties in 2003. Ward is clearly no newcomer to the 'justice system' that has for many years failed to bring justice to LeFlore County.
In the course of publishing a series of special reports on The Fence of LeFlore County we at Bubbaworld became aware of Ward's refusal to prosecute crimes brought to his attention by Barbara Ellison, that his office instead charged Ellison on a 'trumped up' assault and battery charge and refused to file charges against a person that threatened Ellison's life, with independent witnesses present.
These abuses of power on the part of Farley Ward were detailed on the 'LeFlore County News blog, in a series of posts during October and November, 2005.
To this day, District Attorney Farley Ward has refused to prosecute or even investigate any of the criminal offenses brought to his attention by Barbara Ellison. This while his office continues its prosecution of Ellison on a phony assault and battery charge that should have never seen the light of day and is in the opinion of this writer simply an attempt to get Ellison to shut up and go away.
District Attorney Farley Ward is for the first time in his career facing the voters of LeFlore and Latimer Counties in the July 25th primary election. He needs to be sent a message that the citizens of these counties will no longer accept business as usual, that they demand real justice and not just more of the same 'Good Ol Boy justice' they have endured for so long.
We at Bubbaworld urge the decent, honest and justice minded people of LeFlore and Latimer Counties to send Farley Ward packing on July 25th. They owe it to themselves, for only they can bring real justice to LeFlore County. It is obvious that real justice is the last thing on the mind of Farley Ward.
