Letter from DA's Office to Terry Hembree - Dated 3/15/1996

Letter from DA Ben Loring to Terry Hembree

Editor's comments:

There are several interesting aspects to this letter.

(1) The document presented here is a scanned image supplied to Bubbaworld by Mr. Hembree.

(2) The source document is obviously a typewritten document that was sent to Mr. Hembree via fax. The faxed document was sent from the DA's office on 3/19/96 and received by Mr. Hembree on 3/19/96.

(3) Four days elapsed between the original date of the document and it's being faxed to Mr. Hembree. The 15th of March, 1996 was a Friday and the 19th of March, 1996 was a Tuesday.

(4) In the lower left-hand area of the document in handwriting is the following:

"Drew said you are dead in the water"

This notation is followed by what appears to be the name "Barry Denny", 1:45 pm, 3/19/96 and the name "Tom". Barry Denney, not Denny, was at the time the First Assistant DA for Ben Loring. During March of 1996 and as of this writing W.A. "Drew" Edmondson is the Attorney General of Oklahoma.

(5) In the left margin of the above document is listed various phone numbers and names of personnel associated with District Attorney Ben Loring's office. Please take note of the last name and title listed, Alicia R. Littlefield, Assistant District Attorney as that name will return to play a major role in the Paper Caper fiasco.
