A Question of Priorities #8
In this section of Bubbaworld we reveal examples of events which should cause a reasonable person to question the priorities of both Oklahoma's Criminal Justice System and those that control it.
Washington County District Court, Bartlesville, Oklahoma
DA of Record: Shelley Clemens
Judge of Record: Janice P. Dreiling
In June, 2004 Patrick Aaron Rolens Johnson, age 36, of Bartlesville, OK in a deal with prosecutors in Washington County District Court pled guilty to one count of lewd molestation of a three year old boy. A second count alleging sodomy was dropped by prosecutors.
Upon the recommendation of the prosecutor, District Judge Jan Dreiling sentenced Johnson to a suspended seven year prison term, ordered him to undergo sex offender counseling for three years and not to have unsupervised contact with children younger than 16.
Johnson was accessed a total of $1,036.20 in fines and costs.
