Webmaster O' Bubbaworld,
Thanks for your reply, taking the time to do so and I hope you will add this reply to the special page made just for me, it would mean a lot. My first sentence said: "I've read some of your articles," keyword: some = not all, and quite honestly, not very many because I became uninterested after reading your opinions that were integrated with factual information, with which I disagreed and is why I made the accusation of calling you "muckrakers." I'll even add that you are a blatherskite too from an analytical standpoint. Along with having a plethora of commentary, I did not take the time to read and analyze every article, so I do honestly regret saying every beef you have is petty and I sincerely apologize for making that claim. I'm not judging either, in fact I'm making a conscientious effort to not judge. I've proofread this three times over and I don't think I made a judgment, just analysis with possible solutions. Nor am I claiming my way is the only way.
I've formed a rebuttal to your response of my comments. Anything that has the possibility of harming a child is completely unacceptable and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, no exception. Anything involving breaking vital laws or violating government restrictions is unacceptable. Any activity unbecoming and incongruously rotten by a government employee, elected, hired, appointed, or whatever, they should metaphorically be burned at the stake along with punishment to the fullest extent of the law because they are the individuals in who we should be able to hold our greatest trust to do their jobs accordingly and appropriately. In fact, I believe the law should be seen in black and white because there should not be any gray areas in the law whatsoever because they result in plea bargaining to a lesser charge. If you do the crime, you pay the time (except for speeding tickets or something similar which is a victimless crime that will effect a persons expenses if charged.) For example: Have you ever seen the movie New Jack City? If so, situations like Nino Brown being charged with a lesser crime just so he would give up more names even though he murdered several people and distributed crack like a "Mad Scientist" as Chris Rock's crack-head character Pooky put it. That example is representative of the toughness our system lacks.
I agree, there are activities happening in Oklahoma that are downright wrong and ridiculous. But I think we disagree on how to go about solving these problems, seeing that I'm a Conservative and seemingly you're a Liberal(which is only an assumption from the commentary I've read, you Might even be a Left of Center Libertarian, I don't know, it is only an analytical assumption, not a judgment.)
That said, I agree it is important to inform people who are ignorant or apathetic, but not in a negative muckraking tone because for the most part that only discourages the empowerment people feel when they understand a need for improvement and thereby INCREASING APATHY. Even though you think Tom Coburn's no nonsense style is damaging to Oklahoma, he is exactly the type of person who should be elected to all 100 seats of the senate and 435 seats in the house of representatives to get things done. That style may have hurt him initially, but the Long Term success is paying off because everyone sees him as a "Boy Scout," someone with which they can't play these absurd bureaucratic political games, someone who isn't dependent on being reelected because they're not a career politician(which isn't necessarily a bad thing.) Look whom with Dr. Coburn authored the bill, Barack Obama! Sen. Obama is about as liberal as you can get, but he is a no nonsense type of guy, not quite near as much as Sen. Coburn, but this is an example of why we need more guys like Dr. Tom Coburn.
For more defense of our Senator: IF any sexual behavior (lesbian, gay, straight, whatever) is a problem in school, then proper precautions need to be made, wouldn't you agree? Because the only purpose of school is to learn about a specific set curriculum, anything else only distracts from the learning process (which should be individualized for each student accordingly to their learning method, I have AD/HD, the type that goes unnoticed and it would have helped me in the Long Run, but I'm learning new methods. AD/HD is also why I may stray off of the subject a little, but it only happens if I feel it is needed to make a point, but just giving you a heads up so you're not saying, this guy is crazy or something like that.)
And being a responsible law abiding citizen, if I want to blow something up with an RPG as long as it does not harm a human-being and/or property or break any laws, then dag-gum-it, I'm going to have fun doing it because I have accountability. Which is the same reason why the U.S. and other accountable nations can have nukes(even though this world would be better off without WMD, it is an intimidation factor and partially why WWIII did not occur between the USA and USSR, sorry I strayed off subject) Have you ever shot a shotgun at clay pigeons? That is one of the funnest things you can do! I personally couldn't shoot Bambie's mother or any animal for that matter, but there is a lot of fun in shooting a weapon.
I haven't found anything about his claim in regard to Cherokee's not being Indians, but honestly don't care, they're making the poor man poorer and the homeless more hopeless with their casinos everyday. His mother's family apparently came to Oklahoma on the Cherokee Nation's Trail of Tears.
OK, now Finally, in response to the abortion issue, I think we can both
agree it is sensitive. There are some unavoidable gray areas
unfortunately and that is where most people differ in their opinions
(which may make me sound like a hypocrite after what I stated earlier,
but it is unavoidable to not enter the "gray spectrum" unless the law
specifically states details.) The gray area is located when life begins,
which most all pro-life people believe it begins at conception and
pro-choice believe it begins when the child is initially exposed outside
of the womb. Being a Christian, I feel strongly about the subject of
sex, its significance, and how it should remain taboo. I believe life
begins at conception, it is a gift from God, and everything is allowed
by His plan, even rape. As crude and awful as that may seem, God does
not condone rape, but He does make it known and rebukes the senseless
act (Biblical Reference- Deuteronomy 22:25-27
In conclusion, I recognize that you're a realist and I believe "Keepin'
It Real" is imperative, but without optimism you're only going to dwell
on the negativity. And I understand the truth hurts, but remember this,
"AMONG A COWARD'S WEAPONS, CYNICISM IS THE NASTIEST OF ALL!" I got that
quote from a book called Mountains Beyond Mountains
Peace,
Peter Jack
